If you love the feel of a local county fair then you won’t want to miss the second largest in all of New York State, the Dutchess County Fair. Every year the fair’s organizers manage to outdo themselves by providing top quality entertainment, competitions, food, and more to keep you busy all day long. In fact the fair is home to hundreds of free attractions that would take you more than a full day to visit. Don’t just take our word for it. Every year nearly a half of million people return to the fair to show their support and love for the event. Possibly one of the most scenic county fairs, the Dutchess Fair takes place at the beautiful Bucolic Fairgrounds which features plenty of themed gardens, koi ponds, water lilies, and water falls that you won’t want to miss. The fair organizers reach out to local horticulture experts that work hard to make sure the park looks in tip top shape before each year’s fair.
There is no shortage of things to do at this county fair, no matter what interest you. Events for the whole family like the Two by Two Exotic Zoo and Rosaire’s Racing Pigs make it a perfect place to spend those last waning minutes of summer with your 
kids. There are plenty of educational exhibits and demonstrations that can help you master some of your hobbies including quilting, cooking and wood carving. Historic attractions like antique museum village, a mock historical town from the 1800’s, and the Pleasant Valley train station, a replica early 1900’s train station, never cease to amaze visitors. Performers, including Hilby the Skinny German Juggler and Oscar the Roving Robot, will be wandering the streets entertaining the masses. Local music and food vendors also line the streets keeping you well fed and entertained on your walk from attraction to attraction.
